The Two Worlds in One

Okay, as many people go about their daily lives thinking that there is only one world, yeah, that's great, but what about the other worlds, including Anime Fans, Furries, Trekkies, Star Wars Fans, and everyone else. Then we have the political nuts saying these things don't exist, which is like saying, oh....well...they aren't here.

Furries

There are those who say that as a Furry saying something about the matter that this is all biased group of views, which is the community is completely misunderstood. I am going to say this as of now, 1. not all furries will target children and are pedophiles, oh, hells no, I'm a furry and do I really like that, NO! 2. Furries are full of gay people, yeah, there are gay people that are furries, and there are straight people too, we are a colorful bunch of people. 3. We have sex with animals, um....eeewww, there are some I question about that, but hell NO, not this furball, no way is this neko anyway sexually interested in dogs or any other animal, okay? 4. Its a Sex fetish, um...NO! Okay there is a spiritual side to it, is a kind of side of thinking like that and also its the fact we are not going to have sex with just anything.

Furries are not pedophiles, we have no intention, though we have had some in our past who target our group as their grounds.

I know one who is a faux (fake) furry, she's a con artist who will steal from you, will con you out of your possessions just so she can make a quick buck.

Don't let that cloud your view of us, we're not going to go out and molest your kid, we'd likely just have a ton of stuffed animals on our bed, we work at regular jobs, and we have families. So with all the media hype on us, let's say Tyra Banks, HBO, MTV, and such, those just put a negative light or make fun of what we do simply to get a story, it has everything to do with pointing the finger at how strange we are.

Anime Fans

Anime fans are not stupid people, they are not children who are going to jump up and down and scream at every hot guy that is animated. Anime is a form of artwork that is simply amazing and has gathered a group of fans over the years, ranging from the ages of 15 to almost 80 who are animation nuts.

Japanese animation started out as characteriture of politic figures or pretty young girls who were prostitutes during the Tokugawa regeme. The first known anime to be seen was a frog jumping into a pond, from the famous Haiku of the same name. This was the birth of something new and grand.

What are anime fans, we generally will call ourselves Otaku, which means obsessed in Japanese and this is the negative way of seeing us. Otaku are not just obsessed with anime, they are divide now into groups, there are the mecha-philes, Yaoi Fans, Yuri Fans and so forth, though there are the subsects, lol...the Narutards or those obsessed with Naruto.

These are just some of the strange side affects of the dividing and also getting something strange, the teenagers being separated from the adults. The Adult Anime Fans want nothing to do with the ones who are the subsets of the Anime Community.

The Anime Community is one of the only groups that doesn't have much say in the matter of politics and sometimes number in the millions. They will come from large scale high schools, small scale Community Colleges and also Universities. These people don't have money and at times will spend it once a year at millions of anime conventions that dot the country. Some starting at the earliest in January and ending in December.

Due to the large amount of people into anime, it has spawned businesses that cater to it, and work hard to keep these conventions going and keep the fans fed.

What the outside sees, a bunch of costume wearing freaks who appear outside of Halloween. I remember something back in 2001, I was walking outside of a convention with a few people to get something to eat, then I hear from a moving car, "Happy Halloween Mother----ers." We standing on the edge of the road waiting to cross were almost bursting at the seams laughing at these people who see themselves as normal. But it could have gone a different way, there are places where anime fans are almost threatened on a daily basis or even beaten up for money.

Conventions like Nan Desu Kan in Colorado, A-Kon in Texas, AX in LA have found ways to protect their patrons in many ways by having some of the best volunteer security they can get. I should know, I'm dating one of the few who volunteers for it.

Please be aware that anime fans are not perverts, though there are some that I sort of question due to their huge amount of porn on their computer. Then again there are those who say Americans who watch live action porn out number those who buy hentai (animated porn).

Anime fans are people who are diverse, though I wish the Yaoi fans (gay porn) girls would tone it down a bit.

Trekkies, Star Wars, Fantasy Fans

I know very little about these worlds, but again, I never got much into it, though I know for a fact like the Otaku or Anime Community these people try to maintain peaceful relations. Nothing like booze and good fun to let your hair down. These people like this kind of thing, they don't go around and start telling you to wear this or that, work like this or that, its just a matter of fact that there are always going to be people who take the stop and stare at the Klingons as they eat at Wendys during StarFest in Colorado.

Twilight, GRRRRR....TWITARDED

Twilight is not a fandom, its just a silly one time group of fans who are taking things a bit too far in their like of the movie or book. For one, these children as I see them can range from ages 13 to 35 and usually are not the brightest at times when it comes to their simple fandom.

A Twilight fan can go one of two directions. 1. Is the moderate fan who knows if you don't like it will just say, "you have a right to your opinion, I still like the book though, but I'm not shoving it on you." 2. The fan who is so obsessed that if you don't like it, then you are suddenly the enemy and need to be converted because they will just not be happy until you admit by force you like them.

I have had my fair share of both groups, though the ones who are seem the most annoying are those who are number 2. They tend to take not liking Twilight as some kind of horrible thing.

In either case, be aware of your own groups and don't get offended if someone corrects you.

Conclusion!

Now that you get the message, please be aware that fandoms are not your enemies, but they are your friends.
