I feel bad for Jadis, Narnia Explained by a Pagan

Sadly, I have no better words to describe how much C.S. Lewis bores the hell out of me, but honestly, I believe it is a lesson for us Pagans to not trust 100% a lot of Christians. There are Christians out there that are bad and good. But I believe that The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and the Chronicles of Narnia are all pretty much painting Pagans in a bad light.

Jadis for instance is a victim! She actually is forced into a role as an evil ruler when she was supposed to be set as a guardian. She has a horrible fate thrust onto her, she has real joy in her life and also the person she trusted most, Aslan betrays her in the worst possible way.

I'm not saying this is a great way to paint us Wiccans and Pagans who have done nothing wrong, but it is truly the worst way to explain anything.

The children are victims too, because here they are thrust into a world they know little to nothing about, a place where once was joy and happiness, now thrust into a shadowy sadness. The duelity of it all is that Aslan and Jadis were friends and suddenly they were basically forced to change sides so suddenly.

The Magician's Nephew is a great way to show what happened and it makes sense. It makes poor Jadis feel like she has spent her entire life being the one that has to be defeated, while she's a victim of circumstances.

How do you think that feels for her? Not very keen or very good in the least. Witches have always been things that people say are evil and wrong. I get so tired of the sterotypes it just makes me not willing to help anyone or do anything for anyone but myself. As a Wiccan, it just makes me feel like we are forever living with that over our heads all because one little story turns a Pagan into a bad guy.

Are Wiccans and Pagans that evil? NO...actually not at all...at least in some sense we are passive and have caused little to not problems in the US in the least. We have never once protested when people have walked on us in the past, we were often scared of being walked on, so when someone says one thing in defense of another, maybe its time we defend one of our own.

Jadis was a victim! That's right, a victim of a propagandist and not a very good one at that, the story doesn't follow anything, what about her personal feelings on the matter, what about the fact she has to play a role that she would rather not play. What if she wanted to be peaceful, what if in the beginning she did not want to destroy Charn at all, what if she wanted the peace between her and Aslan and save Narnia? What if?

There are many reasons why humans left Narnia in the first place, and Jadis was not it, she was not the reason anyone left. She might have tried to assist them in other things, but she may have also realized that in doing any help to the world she became the villain which is sad for her.
